Ghuna X is the alter ego of the electronic music producer Pedro Augusto, based in Oporto (PT).http://www.ghunax.com/?page_id=2Ghuna x's work is the result of the analog and concrète sounds lied together on a multiform and spectral ambient, possible through the computer interface. The time factor plays an important role, being the tools of the trade either obsolete (like the use of tape recorders and sequencers) and actual (like the digital signal processing). His artistic studies built a vision of sound as a tridimensional object. "Spatiality" was the main concern in the first works, whereas "musicality" was intentionally left behind. Moreover the inumerous collabs and open jams with musicians of different areas, provided an ear training and flexibility which became the basis for the recently released first album (2011), eight years after the first electronic music incursions. His music lives somewhere in between Goblin's and John Carpenter's film music alongside with Scorn's heavyness. Dirty squared voices mix with either fast jungle beats or slow and swinged triplets. All the more, the use of old drum machines and the acoustic percussions provide an interesting and unique mix, and the feeling for a non-conventional and freeform music. In the last years Ghuna X was responsible for the composing of several soundtracks for theatre, film and more recently, television. He took part of several festivals in Portugal, in the areas of the Intermedia, Performance, Poetry and Electronic dance music. He's the co-founder of the diy label Marvellous Tone and the Oporto beats'collective Faca Monstro.
